Outdoor Training Programme for officers of the Haryana Civil Service and other Allied Services

The Institute of Management in Government (IMG), Thiruvananthapuram, organised an Outdoor Training Programme for officers of the Haryana Civil Service and other Allied Services from 15th to 18th March 2024. The programme was directed by Dr. S Sajeev, Professor IMG; Jafferkhan S, Associate Fellow IMG; and Mubashir E, Assistant Professor IMG, and was designed to provide participants with insights into Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and geographical attractions. The programme commenced with the participants arriving in Kerala on the evening of 15th March. On 16th March, the officers experienced a traditional houseboat cruise in the backwaters of Alappuzha, providing them with insights into Kerala's tourism and sustainable development efforts. The following day, 17th March, they visited the historic Padmanabhapuram Palace, Suchindram Temple, and Kanyakumari, including the iconic Vivekananda Rock, Kanyakumari Beach, and the sunset viewpoint. This visit highlighted the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the region. On the final day, 18th March, the officers visited historic Padmanabhaswami Temple, Kovalam International Beach, offering them exposure to Kerala’s thriving tourism industry, followed by a local market visit before their departure to Tamil Nadu. The programme effectively combined educational and experiential elements, giving the participants a comprehensive understanding of Kerala's cultural richness and tourism potential.
